Fine Gael TD for Kildare North. Anthony Lawlor, yesterday (Tuesday) received confirmation from Mr. John Tierney, the Managing Director of Irish Water that €33 million has been granted for the upgrading of the Osberstown Waster Water Treatment Plant with works to commence shortly.

“The upgrade and expansion of the waste water treatment plant at Osberstown is very significant for the people of Kildare North as it serves a vast population in Naas, Johnstown, Kill, Clane, Prosperous, and Sallins. The upgrade will cater for an increase in the population capacity of the treatment plant, facilitating the rapidly expanding industrial, domestic and commercial population in the local area. This is particularly important for the success of the Kerry Group Research Facility operating in the Naas area. This new system will cater for a higher number of business and residential developments, which should be encouraged to bring our building sector back to life, a necessity for the increased demand for family homes in the area.”
