Up to 40 Kildare developments to be finally taken in charge – Deputy Anthony Lawlor
Fine Gael TD for Kildare North, Deputy Anthony Lawlor, has welcomed a circular from the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government to Local Authorities regarding the taking in charge of residential developments.
“The normal process of taking developments in charge has been stalled considerably due to ongoing discussions regarding the transfer of water and waste water infrastructure from Local Authorities to Irish Water. As a result, there is a considerable backlog of developments to be taken in charge”.
“This announcement provides clarity for Local Authorities regarding the transfer of water infrastructure to Irish Water and gets the taking in charge process back on track. Now after considerable delays local authorities can start clearing that backlog and it is expected that up to 40 developments in Kildare can now be taken in charge, which will be good news to residents”.
“I would encourage residents who want their development to be taken in charge to make their request to Kildare County Council via their residents association”.
