Construction of Phase 3C of Naas General Hospital to commence in 2015 – Deputy Anthony Lawlor
Fine Gael TD for Kildare North, Deputy Anthony Lawlor, has welcomed the news of the extension of Naas General Hospital in 2015.
“I have been working closely with Minister Varadkar in pushing for this much needed extension to Naas General Hospital”.
Kildare County Council has granted planning permission and subject to there being no objections, consents should be awarded shortly. The HSEs design drawings allow for further extensions in the future in line with expected population growth.
“The design is for a 2 floor development with physical therapy, speech therapy, and the oncology unit being accommodated on the ground floor adjacent to the main concourse and out-patients. The must needed endoscopy unit will be located on the upper floor adjacent to theatres which is the optimal location from a patient safety, logistics and staffing viewpoint. In response to parliamentary questions and having met with Minister Leo Varadkar, I have been informed that the Minister has approved the HSE’s draft capital plan for 2015-2019 and I am confident that the project will commence in the second half of 2015”.
