Senator Anthony Lawlor has welcomed the announcement of the provision of funding for the endoscopy unit, physical medicine unit, physical therapy unit, oncology unit and day procedure department at Naas General Hospital.
Senator Lawlor said “Funding will be provided for a new endoscopy unit, physical medicine unit, physical therapy unit, oncology unit and day procedure department at Naas General Hospital which I very much welcome. The funding is part of a new Capital plan which provides for the spending of just over €2 billion on health capital projects from 2019 to 2021.”
Continuing “Between now and 2021, Fine Gael are committing to 250 projects across the country, 480 new beds, 30 new primary care centres, 58 community nursing units, and significant investment in mental health and disability projects in the community.”
“I have met with hospital management and staff and share their concerns about the need for a quick resolution of the tendering process and for works to start as soon as possible.”
“I will continue to engage with Minister Harris to ensure that the tendering stage for the endoscopy and oncology unit and day procedures department in Naas Hospital is completed in a timely manner.”
